DESIGNERS ALICE CICOLINI AND MELANIE GEORGACOPOULOS IN CONVERSATION AT MORTON'S ON 20 SEPTEMBER 2016

Andrée Cooke is joined by fine jewellery designers Alice Cicolini and Melanie Georgacopoulos to talk about their stunning new collaboration being debuted in London this Autumn at Morton's.

Known for their unique iconic styles, Melanie Georgacopoulos and Alice Cicolini, leading designers in the UK jewellery scene, have produced a series of necklaces using the distinctive characteristics of 3D technology as a starting point for creativity.
Alice Cicolini has created two necklace, one necklace in silver, maple and 3D printed porcelain, and the second in stratified ABS & SLA plastic.
Melanie Georgacopoulos creates a limited edition necklace made completely in ABS plastic, which references classic pearl and diamond jewellery. The concept behind these necklaces is to create pieces that could not be made with traditional techniques, which bring together elements of fine jewellery and product design, questioning the relationship between the machine and the hand in relation to 3D technology.
